Windrose Dedicated Server - Resetting Your Server

When to Reset

You may want to reset your server to start fresh. There are two levels of reset:

  • Reset a single world — Wipe one world's save data while keeping your other worlds and server settings intact.
  • Full server reset — Wipe everything and return to a clean state, as if the server was just provisioned.
Warning: Resetting will permanently delete save data. Always create a backup first if you might want to restore it later. See the Backup and Restore guide.

Reset a Single World

To wipe a single world and start it fresh while keeping everything else:

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Open the File Manager.
  3. Navigate to R5/Saved/SaveProfiles/Default/RocksDB/0.10.0/Worlds/.
  4. Find the folder for the world you want to reset. Use List Worlds to identify which World ID corresponds to which world name.
  5. Delete the entire world folder.
  6. If this was the active world, the server will create a new default world on next boot. You can then customise it using Create New World or by editing its WorldDescription.json.

Full Server Reset

To completely wipe your server and start from scratch:

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Open the File Manager.
  3. Delete the entire R5/Saved folder. This removes all worlds, save data, and server configuration.
  4. Start your server. It will regenerate all default files, including a new ServerDescription.json with a new invite code and a fresh default world.
Note: After a full reset, your invite code will change. Make sure to share the new invite code with your players. You can find it in Configuration Files → ServerDescription.json.
